Postal is a marriage between drummer Jerry Bobbe's improvised beats and my composing. The music came about in the following way: In the summer of 2015 I found myself recording drums with the band '2nd Quintessence'. We had to do quite some soundchecks in order to get the optimal mic-setup and to test new recording equipment. Drummer Jerry improvised some drum grooves during all the tweaking. I later reckoned it would be a fun idea to use those grooves as a basis for a few recordings. Although I wasn't that familiar with latin musical styles I wanted to match the serious latin influence Jerry injects into his playing. Therefore Postal is like a holiday snapshot from a foreign but fascinating musical land.
